Natural by Design

We're doing our very first guest post today over at Confessions of a Blog Vixen, where our dearest friend West, holds court as a natural hair-care guru and a purveyor of all things fashionable. West has been killing it over there for years and we're beyond honored to have some face time with her readers. To pay homage to her love of the hair in it's natural state, we've decided to salute decor inspired by natural elements. Driftwood, sand, river rocks hold center court in an entryway; woven ottomans, burlap headboards, grass cloth wallpaper, made us swoon.  Check em out.

Okay, now pick yourselves up off the floor. Those rooms were kinda awesome.
So don't be alarmed if you can't afford to spend the cash all at once to get fully designed spaces like these. Some of the best designed rooms are those that come together after years of collecting items here and there.

Do:

  • Splurge on a can of paint - a white room goes a long way with these nature inspired pieces.
  • Select items you love, even if it costs a little extra. It'll likely last you an eternity and will definitely become your signature piece.
  • Spend some time at your local thrift stores. I've found amazing wing-back chairs, plantation chairs and much more for under $20, scooped them up, bought some inexpensive fabric and had them looking museum worthy after an inexpensive trip to my trusted upholstery guy.
Here are some great finds we pulled together so you too can infuse some of these items in your own home, one element of time.
