I'm Single Again and Now it's Time to PAAAARTY!?

Engagement parties, bachelor/bachelorette soirees, the uber fabulous wedding and now divorce parties? Lord help us, but yes, the latter has now become quite the trend. So after taking 18 months to plan the wedding of your dreams, including sending out 300 wedding invitations (with no labels mind you, just your perfect handwriting to address each guest), it only takes you three days and 50 e-invite cards to plan your divorce party. Ouch. I know somewhere I'm missing the irony in this....

you can still wear white...

and have an open bar...

even hire a DJ so you can rock out to songs like Trina's - I'm Single Again, Fiona Apple's - Get Gone, Pink's - So What, Ace of Base's - I Saw the Sign, Daughtry's - Over You and your new anthem Taylor Swift's - We are never EVER getting back together.

there will be party favors...

and what party would be complete without cake...

Now I have been to countless bachelorette parties, but I have to admit I have never been to a divorce party and really hope I never have to go to one. I think we should start a trend where we have "Let's fight to stay together" parties.  I guess that's my hopeless romantic side rearing is ugly head again....
Have you even been to a divorce party? Was it a fun, liberating affair, or was it simply awkward? Should your marriage end (God forbid!)would you even think about having one?
p.s.
Happy Hump Day!!

  4. A woman in town threw herself a bachelorette, again, party. I was not invited, but I heard it was huge...open bar, etc...she still had access to his credit card for a while, so he paid.

  7. Hello, I'm working on a new documentary-style TV series (description below) and just wanted to reach out to see if you know anyone who might be interested. Thanks so much, appreciate your help.

A well known TV and Film Production company is looking for divorce party planners as well as couples or one-half of former couples who are having a divorce party for themselves to participate in a new documentary-style television series. Male or female, any age, from anywhere in the country, with outgoing, charismatic, engaging personalities. Must be willing to have cameras follow you leading up to and during the party(ies).

If you are a Divorce Party Planner interested in being considered, please send a photo of yourself, professional resume, a description of your company, and a description of a divorce party you’ve planned with a specific anecdote about something that went very right or very wrong.

If you are a divorcing couple or one member of a divorcing couple, please send a photo of yourself, a brief description of your relationship and split, and your reasons for wanting to have a divorce party.

If you're not interested, but know someone who might be interested, please feel free to pass the information along to them.

Additionally for both type of candidates, please make a 3-5 minute video using the following guidelines:

    - Tell your camera-operator that this should be shot from the waist up. Don't shoot toward a light or sun (puts you in silhouette).
Be natural, be brief. Have fun with this! Show us your personality. We're looking for charisma and openness.

    - Tell us your name, where you’re from, where you live now, media experience (if any), your current relationship status, introduce us to someone in your life on camera who we’d expect to see if we were to follow you around daily, have that person describe a good characteristic of yours AND a flaw, what interests you about participating in this show?, tell us a quick story – something funny, weird, scary, heartwarming, memorable – that has happened to you or that you’ve experienced.

CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT VIDEO.

Materials must be received by Oct. 29, 2012 to be considered.

DVD or Quicktime files will be accepted. Materials will not be returned.
