Thirty Days To Design a Winter Home? No Problem.

This gem of a South Florida condo belongs to a French Canadian couple,  completed in under 30 days. Madness? I know. Did I mention that the couple speaks French, and very very little English? So how in the world did we get this done? Here's the tea:

They have an amazing sister/sister-in-law who, fluent in English, found us via our favorite fabric store Designer Discount Fabrics. They were driving down from Montreal a few days before Thanksgiving to finally see the condo purchased months before. They needed everything including beds, lots of seating, a dining table, sheets, towels. You name it, they needed it.
We were already drowning with projects to complete before Christmas and I honestly wasn't sure how we could pull this off. But how could we say no once we discovered that all they had were those sad folding chairs? And a penchant for offering us wine at any hour of the day? I relented.

We whipped together a plan of action for each room making sure to only source items with at least a 7 to 10 day delivery option. Wishful thinking right? Of course there were a few shipping snafus but nothing we couldn't overcome.

We settled on Option 1 for the Living Room with some tweaks of course including moving the desk and chair to the screened in patio and ditching the wallpaper idea in favor of a striped wall for immediate impact.

The paint color, though a neutral, was simply too dark for the light and airy feeling we wanted in a winter home. We settled on some lighter neutrals, and though initial scared to try a striped wall, they relented and fell in love with it once completed.
Our sectional is from Crate and Barrel, always a great price for great quality with a quick turn around. The rug is from West Elm and adds just the perfect splash of color.

Amanda scored the oversized piece of art from Z Gallerie. It kinda steals the show.
Home Goods never disappoints for throw pillows and accessories. Ditto Target where we also snagged this coffee table/ottoman. Lamps and end tables are from my online fave, Overstock - hands down the best customer service in the business.

Goodbye folding chairs! And hello comfy accent chairs. We managed to load in lots of seating in this living space and they needed it. They had quite the party the day before heading back to Canada.

These little foot stools from Target are the cutest! And sturdy as all hell. Trust me on that.
Lots more seating at this dining table from West Elm. We reupholstered the cushion for the bench to add some interest and much needed softness to the padding.

That striped wall makes my heart sing every time. Done by the uber talented Shaggy, who never ever uses tape.

And even the tiny foyer got some love. We found this fab 12" deep entry table at Overstock and this fun mirror from West Elm.

We added some interest with these timeless gift boxes from Target, and added texture with this gourd from Home Goods.

And there you have it. A project from concept to completion in less than 30days. And this is how we ended our reveal.

It was an emotional reveal that left even moi in tears. They'd seen pieces of furniture here and there as the deliveries trickled in. But to return home that evening to see it all come together, a home they'd long dreamed of having, was more than they could handle. Wine, lots of wine was necessary. We remain truly humbled that they trusted us - complete strangers - to transform this condo into a home. Merci beaucoup
