I've had a love affair with bright colors all my life. Blame it on my island upbringing where color surrounds you in the simple, everyday things of life - all year long. The bold splash of orange on a mango, the bright yellow of the ackee fruit, the green skin of plantains and of course, the vibrant blues of our beaches.
Let's just say that in my 10-plus years of designing homes and events, I can count the neutral spaces I've done on two fingers.
So, I was thrilled and equally humbled when Sherwin Williams - my go to paint for design projects - noticed my designs around the web and asked if they could feature me and my colorful projects in their magazine, Stir.
Er, sure thing.
You can check out the feature in the latest issue of Stir and hear me chat a bit about my colorful adventures in selecting paint with clients. Thanks to clients who have allowed me to color their world, just a tad bit.

What Color is That?
Many, many times each week I get a message via Pinterest, Houzz, email or here on the blog asking what colors we used in these two projects, Janeka's Master Bedroom and Jina's foyer. In lieu of continuing to answer this a million more times, I'm gonna spell it all out here.
The coral color used in the master bedroom was a color match, so there is no name. Janeka now says I should have it named the Nicole so Home Depot and Behr if you're listening, holla. 'Til then, please feel free to print this and walk it right into your favorite paint store. It is a fab color so please enjoy.
The color used in the Jina's foyer is by Sherwin Williams, Web Gray (SW 7075). Gray Matters (SW 7066) was used throughout the remainder of the house seen here and here.
Speaking of paint, my favorite Sherwin Williams branch in North Miami Beach, is giving away a free quart of paint to design professionals this evening:
Location: 451 NE 167th Street, North Miami Beach, FL 33162
Phone: 305-651-9595
Time: 6-8 p.m.
Why? Free paint, food, drinks, raffle prizes and goodie bags! Nuff said.
Cheers to a fab Tuesday.
